Why Bootstrap Dropped IE 9 Support? And Why Opted Flexbox?
Bootstrap is the best web design tool for creating websites. It has all the necessary features to make sites load quickly.

The Bootstrap group recently released Bootstrap 4 alpha 6, which is their final alpha release. They will now begin working on beta versions of Bootstrap 4. Alpha 6 brings many new additions, improved components, and bug corrections.

Bootstrap 4 no longer works with Internet Explorer 9

With alpha 6, the Bootstrap team stopped supporting Internet Explorer 9. The main reason for this is Bootstrap's new design. Bootstrap 4 now uses flexbox layout by default, which old browsers like Internet Explorer 9 cannot handle.

Why did Bootstrap choose Flexbox?

To use flexbox as the main layout, the Bootstrap team had to stop supporting IE9. Here's why Bootstrap picked the Flexbox layout:

Flexbox offers the most flexible method for arranging items vertically or horizontally, including upright placement. In addition to positioning, Bootstrap 4's Flexbox now makes cards the same height and width, ensures navigation and button groups fill their space uniformly, provides automatic spacing, and brings many other enhancements. Most parts of Bootstrap now use flexbox for improved visual layout.
